A organização do Eisner Awards divulgou ontem, 16, os indicados nas 32 categorias do Eisner Awards, o maior prêmio aos quadrinhos publicados nos EUA. A lista está abaixo, e, após uma rápida lida, duas coisas me saltaram aos olhos.
Ei, cara, cadê a Marvel Comics? Das cinco melhores séries contínuas (ou seja, revistas, normalmente mensais), quatro são da DC e uma, da Image. Aí a gente olha para as outras categorias ligadas a série: série limitada (normalmente as famosas “minisséries”) e nova séries… Nada de Marvel. Será que a editora não está mais conseguindo produzir bons quadrinhos como antigamente?
Outro destaque: o reconhecimento ao talento da escritora Kelly Thompson. Ela foi indicada a nada menos do que cinco categorias: melhor roteirista (claro!), série contínua (por “Birds of Prey”, traduzida aqui como “Aves de Rapina”, e desenhada pelo brasileiro Leonardo Romero), série limitada (“The Cull”, imagem que abre este texto), nova série (“Black Cloak”) e até de humor (“It’s Jeff”). Baita reconhecimento!
Também gostei de ver o nome do brasileiro Danilo Beyruth, um dos artistas por trás de Deep Cuts, da Image, que concorre na categoria de melhor coletânea, e que “Saudade” (traduzida como “Missing You”), da dupla de brasileiros Phellip Willian e Melissa Garabeli, é uma das finalistas nas publicações para crianças.
